Ayahuasca Retreat in Maine
There are places where the land itself becomes part of the medicine. Pachamama Sanctuary sits in the quiet forests of Casco, Maine — the original home of our community, where seekers have gathered for years to sit in ceremony, shed what no longer serves them, and return to themselves.
Our weekend retreats are grounded in Indigenous Amazonian tradition, held within a federally compliant, RFRA-protected church, and guided by teachers whose lineages and care you can trust.

About the Sanctuary

Pachamama Sanctuary in Casco, Maine is a sacred ceremonial space rooted in the Amazonian healing tradition of ayahuasca. Our retreats bring together small groups of seekers from Portland, Boston, New York, and beyond for weekend-long immersions that include two ayahuasca ceremonies, nourishing meals, breathwork, and integration practices held in a community of care.
The land holds the retreats as much as our teachers do. Casco’s forests of pine, birch, and quiet create a natural container for the inward journey. Participants often describe the setting as the first real silence they’ve found in years.
Whether you are arriving at your first ceremony or your fifteenth, you are welcomed here as you are.

What to Expect at Our Maine Retreat
A Pachamama retreat weekend begins on Friday evening with arrival, an orientation circle, and a communal meal prepared with care. The first ceremony opens that night — held in a large ceremonial room where each participant rests on a prepared mattress, surrounded by candlelight and live medicine music.
The second ceremony takes place on Saturday evening. In the time between, participants rest, reflect, share in circle, and move through yoga, breathwork, or quiet time in the forest. Meals are prepared to support your body through the dieta, and the kitchen is always warm.
Sunday morning is for integration — group sharing, gentle guidance on carrying your insights home, and a closing ceremony of gratitude before departure.
Our facilitators and support team are present throughout the entire weekend, not just in ceremony.
Accommodations in Casco
Our accommodations are simple, warm, and intentional. Each participant is prepared a memory foam mattress — your ceremonial space for the weekend — along with clean linens, a blanket, and a pillow. For those who prefer more privacy, semi-private rooms with twin or full bunk beds are available for a peaceful place to sleep and decompress between ceremonies.

The space is designed to hold you gently. Hot water, clean bathrooms, a fire pit, and forest walks are all part of the journey.
Located at 50 Rabbit Run Lane, Casco, ME — approximately 40 minutes northwest of Portland.
Is ayahuasca legal in Maine at Pachamama Sanctuary?
Yes. Pachamama Sanctuary operates as a federally recognized religious church under the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA). Our sacramental use of ayahuasca is protected under federal law as an expression of sincere religious practice — a status we hold with deep responsibility.
Before every retreat, each participant completes a thorough medical and psychological intake. Our guidelines exist to protect you. Participants with certain medications or medical histories may be asked to postpone their journey, and we take that seriously. Your safety is the foundation upon which the ceremony is built.
Our facilitators are experienced, trained in ceremonial protocol, and hold their lineages with integrity. Integration support continues after you leave — because the ceremony does not end when you return home.
