An Intimate Winter Ayahuasca Retreat with Arkawa in Maine Limited to Just 16 Guests
January 22–24, 2027 | $1,097 | 3 Days, 2 Nights | Maine (Near Portland)
There is a certain kind of peace that comes with the stillness of winter.
The forests rest beneath the quiet of the season. The air is crisp, the days move a little slower, and the world seems to invite us to pause, turn inward, and reconnect with what matters most.
This January, we’re creating something especially intimate at Pachamama Sanctuary.
With a maximum of just 16 guests, this retreat offers a rare opportunity to experience sacred ceremony in a smaller, more personal setting, where there’s room for deeper connection, individual attention, and the comfort of sharing the experience with a close-knit circle.
Nestled in the peaceful woodlands just outside Portland, Maine, our Sanctuary offers a warm refuge from the demands of everyday life. Here, you’ll have three days to step away from distractions, settle into the stillness of winter, and begin the new year with intention and reflection.
Guided by our experienced Medicine Carrier, Arkawa, this retreat is held with humility, patience, and deep respect for the traditions that guide this sacred work.
Arkawa is known for his calm, grounded presence and the thoughtful way he holds ceremony. Rather than encouraging guests toward any particular outcome, he creates an environment where each person is invited to trust their own process, allowing moments of reflection and understanding to unfold naturally.
The smaller group creates an opportunity for a more personal connection with Arkawa and our support team. Whether this is your first ceremony or you’re returning to continue your spiritual journey, you’ll have the space to feel seen, heard, and supported throughout the weekend.
As evening falls, our ceremonies take place indoors beside the warmth of the fireplace.
Outside, the winter forest grows still. Inside, the soft glow of the fire brings warmth to a small circle gathered with shared intention, creating an atmosphere of closeness, comfort, and quiet reflection.
There is something meaningful about recognizing every face in the room, sharing meals together, and gradually building a sense of familiarity and connection throughout the weekend.
Just 16 guests. Two sacred ceremonies. Three days to slow down, reconnect, and begin the year with intention.
Your Retreat Includes
Two Sacred Ceremonies
At the heart of the weekend are two evening ayahuasca ceremonies guided by Arkawa.
With only 16 participants, the ceremonial space feels especially intimate. The smaller gathering allows for a quieter atmosphere, more individualized attention from our support team, and the opportunity to move through your experience without the energy of a larger group.
Each ceremony is approached with reverence, attentiveness, and thoughtful care, creating space to turn inward, explore your spiritual path, and reflect on what matters most.
As you begin a new year, these moments of stillness may offer an opportunity to consider what you’ve learned, what you’re ready to leave behind, and the intentions you wish to carry forward.
Every experience is unique. There is no expectation to achieve a particular outcome, only an invitation to approach the weekend with openness, curiosity, and patience.
Comfortable Accommodations
Life becomes beautifully simple during retreat.
Each guest is provided with a comfortable memory foam mattress, pillow, and blanket for ceremony and overnight rest.
Guests seeking additional privacy may choose one of our semi-private shared rooms with bunk-style beds.
With fewer people sharing the Sanctuary, the atmosphere remains relaxed and personal, allowing everyone room to settle in, rest, and feel at home.
Nourishing Meals
Throughout the weekend, you’ll enjoy thoughtfully prepared meals that follow traditional dieta practices, offering simple nourishment throughout your retreat experience.
Shared meals also create opportunities for meaningful connection.
In a gathering of just 16 people, conversations unfold naturally, stories are shared, and unfamiliar faces may begin to feel familiar as the weekend progresses.
These simple moments of connection often become a meaningful part of the retreat experience.
Practices for Reflection & Integration
Ceremony is only one part of the experience.
Throughout the weekend, you’ll participate in practices that encourage presence, personal reflection, and thoughtful integration, including:
- Breathwork
- Meditation
- Group sharing circles
- Quiet time for journaling, reflection, or simply enjoying the peaceful winter surroundings
One of the most meaningful aspects of a smaller retreat is the space it creates for genuine connection.
Sharing circles feel more personal. Conversations have room to deepen. There’s time to listen, reflect, and connect without the energy of a larger group.
And when you need solitude, the quiet rhythm of the Sanctuary offers room to rest and reflect without distraction.
Continued Community Support
Although the weekend comes to a close, your connection with Pachamama Sanctuary continues.
As part of our community, you’ll have unlimited access to our online Integration Circles, where guests gather to reflect, ask questions, and support one another as they bring insights from their experiences into everyday life.
We believe that meaningful personal growth extends beyond ceremony, and continued reflection and community support are important parts of that journey.
A Smaller Circle, A More Personal Experience
There is something special about gathering with a small group of people who have each made the intentional choice to pause, look inward, and explore their spiritual path.
With a maximum of 16 guests, this retreat is designed to feel personal from beginning to end.
Rather than navigating a large gathering, you’ll share the weekend with a close-knit circle, creating more opportunities for meaningful conversations, connection with Arkawa and our support team, and a sense of familiarity within the ceremonial space.
The atmosphere feels quieter. Conversations become more personal. There’s more room to listen, to be heard, and to develop genuine connections with the people around you.
Every participant completes a confidential health screening before attending, and our team is committed to providing a respectful, compassionate, and thoughtfully held environment.
From your initial application through your continued integration, we approach each stage of the experience with intention and care.
Our hope is to create a space where you can arrive as you are, feel welcomed, and move through your experience at your own pace, without pressure or expectations.
Fewer people. A quieter atmosphere. More room for meaningful connection.

Reserve Your Place in the Circle
The beginning of a new year often brings expectations.
New goals. New resolutions. New versions of ourselves we’re supposed to become.
But perhaps this year can begin differently.
Not with pressure to change everything, but with permission to slow down.
To listen.
To reflect.
To reconnect with yourself before the demands of everyday life begin to take over.
Our January 22–24 retreat with Arkawa is limited to just 16 guests, offering a more intimate Pachamama experience than our larger gatherings.
Fewer people, a peaceful atmosphere, and more opportunities for personal connection throughout the weekend.
If you’ve been longing for a chance to begin the year with intention, surrounded by the quiet beauty of Maine’s winter woods and a small circle of like-minded people, we’d be honored to welcome you.
Come gather around the fire, embrace the stillness of winter, and give yourself permission to simply be present.
Only 16 guests will share this experience. We invite you to be one of them.
